Treated Wood Decking
Treated wood is regular wood which undergoes a type of treatment in order to extend its lifespan and enhance its performance by slowing natural decay, resisting termites, fungus, moisture and other elements that promote rot and cause structural degradation.
The most common type of treatment is Thermal treatment which is achieved by placing the wood in a large chamber which cooks it at temperatures exceeding 200 degrees Celsius. This process changes the biological nature of the wood to achieve several features such as durability, and resistance to rot, insects, and fungus. Thermo wood comes in many different species such as Thermo Ash, Thermo Oak, and Thermo Maple.
